16" (41 cm.) Amber-tinted bisque socket head,plump cheeks,tiny
brown glass sleep eyes,painted curly upper lashes,black feathered
brows,accented nostrils,open mouth with slight smile,impressed
dimples at corners of mouth,black mohair wig,amber tinted
composition baby body. Condition: generally excellent,original
1/4" dark line at back crown rim appears original. Marks: K made
in Germany 14 243 JDK (head) made in Germany (body). Comments:
Kestner,circa 1912,the facial model was uniquely used for this
portrait of young Chinese baby. Value Points: most endearing
expression,with beautiful bisque and complexion,original body and
body finish,antique costume includes very elaborate original
headdress.
