11" (28 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flanged neck,blonde
painted baby hair,painted facial features,blue side-glancing
eyes,painted upper eyeliner and brows,closed mouth with open "O"
shape for whistling sound,muslin body with disc-jointed
limbs,bellows in torso which,when pressed,causes the doll to
"whistle",antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:
Heubach (square) 8774 Germany 2. Comments: the doll was marketed
as "Whistling Jim" by Gebruder Heubach,circa 1910. Value Points:
hard to find model with well-working whistle.
