Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with three alternate faces,one depicting a smiling child with blue glass eyes,the second a crying child with blue glass eyes and modeled tear,and the third a sleeping child with modeled closed eyelids; the head is enclosed in a carton hood which disguises the two faces not presently being shown,paper-mache shoulder plate,carton torso with pull-string mama crier,composition and wooden fully-jointed limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: dep (one face). C.B. (stamp on shoulder plate). Comments: Carl Bergner,circa 1895. Value Points: fine original condition,the doll is presented,virtually unplayed with,in her original muslin chemise,bonnet,and stockings.
