Description
24" (61 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and torso having oval-
shaped face with pale complexion,very elongated slender throat,and
shaped lady's torso,carved hair waved loosely away from her face
into double rolled curls at the back,with defined center part and
defined combmarks,blue enamel inset eyes in half-moon
shape,painted eyeliner and brows,slender nose,accented eye corners
and nostrils,closed mouth,sculpted pierced ear lobes,dowel-
jointing of limbs at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees with
separately-carved fingers,and well-turned dainty ankles.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Continental,late 18th
century. Value Points: very rare and beautiful larger early poupee
with shapely body,exceptional sculpting of face and hair,and
wearing beautiful early silk and brocade costume and
