16" (41 cm.) Lightly-pink tinted porcelain shoulder head with
perfectly-oval face,slightly-elongated throat,brown sculpted hair
waved from face in softly-rolled curls and having large white
sculpted bow at the crown,painted facial features,small blue
downcast eyes with well-defined eyelids,arched brown
brows,aquiline nose,closed mouth,muslin stitch-jointed
body,porcelain lower limbs,lovely pale green silk gown in the 18th
century style,undergarments,heeled slippers. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 399 W. Comments: Koniglich-Bayerische Porcelain
in Nymphenburg,early 20th century. A very limited edition of
porcelain dolls were presented at the 1908 Munich Art Doll
exhibition,designed as "decoration dolls",and dressed by the
ladies of Munich in various historical costumes. Value Points:
rare model with unusual and highly expressive features.
