Description
13" (33 cm.) Standing upon a wooden platform behind a wooden dowel
on which is balancing an upside-down boot is a paper-mache kitten
with lush white fur coat,yellow glass eyes,pink sculpted nose,and
right hinged shoulder,holding a mallet. When wound,the kitten's
head bobs up and down while right arm moves the mallet up and down
as though nailing a heel on the boot. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: R.D. (key). Comments: Roullet et Decamps,circa
1900,from that firm's series of "animal people" depicting amusing
mechanical scenes of everyday life. Value Points: especially fine
state of preservation,functioning well and vigorously.
