Description
5" (13 cm.) l. 7"h. A paper-mache trotting pony with flocked
finish,black bead eyes,black mane and tail,and leather harness is
positioned on a frame with three metal spoked wheels; seated on
the pony is an all-bisque doll with glass inset eyes,painted
features,closed mouth,blonde mohair wig,peg-jointed bisque arms
and legs,painted stockings and yellow shoes,and wearing beautiful
ice-blue silk party dress with lace trim and matching jester cap.
When wound,the toy revolves and glides,and the little girl appears
to bob forward and back. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
French,attributed to Vichy,circa 1880. Value Points: rare and
delightful little mechanical toy is charmingly presented,original
silk costume.
