Description
18" (46 cm.) All-wooden doll has one-piece head and torso with
egg-shaped head,flat-back,and shapely front torso,thick elongated
throat,black painted skullcap hair with shaded details around the
forehead,blue enamel eyes,painted all-around lashes,arched
brows,accented eye corners and nostrils,closed mouth with
enigmatic smile,dimpled chin,cloth upper arms,wooden lower
arms,articulation at hips and knees with unusual construction of
upper legs. Condition: very good,some rubs on hair. Comments:
French,early 19th century. Value Points: rare doll with wonderful
expression,original antique costume including
gown,undergarments,slippers,flannel coin pouch,hand-stitched linen
apron with detailing. The doll has a blue ribbon award from the
2005 Philadelphia UFDC convention.
