18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head,small blue glass sleep
eyes,painted curly lashes,incised eyeliner,short feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with painted row of teeth
between the smiling lips,deeply-impressed dimples in cheeks and
lip corners,defined chin tip,brunette mohair wig in long
braids,plaster pate,composition and wooden ball-jointed body.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 192 (head) Germany (torso).
Comments: Kestner,circa 1910,the doll bears close resemblance to
both the Kestner 185 and 208 models,with very subtle variations of
facial plumpness and smile. Value Points: the great rarity of the
character doll,of which few examples are known to exist,is rivaled
by her charming presence,superb bisque and painting,original wig
and pate,original body and body finish,antique costume comprising
brown woolen greatcoat with velvet edged double
collar,undergarments,stockings,leather shoes,and brown velvet
bonnet with brown silk ribbons.
