Description
20" (51 cm.) h. 10"l. Posed upon a wooden platform with four
spoked wheels and having painted grassy ground is a long-legged
paper-mache stork with defined feathers,long beak and glass eyes
upon which is seated a bisque-headed Polichinelle with blue glass
eyes,closed mouth,painted features,firm-structured body with
defined front and back humps,paper-mache legs,wooden hands. When
pulled along,Polichinelle turns his head side to side. Condition:
generally excellent,some wear on tip of stork beak,fingers of
right hand. Comments; French,circa 1890. Value Points: delightful
toy with classic French themed character of Polichinelle wearing
his elaborate original silk and lace costume.
