Description
6 1/2" (17 cm.) Bisque vase with rounded back has sculptural
figural design on the front depicting a little blonde haired child
with topknot and forelock curl,painted blue side-glancing eyes,"O"
shaped mouth,her arms clasped in front of her shivering naked body
as she stands in knee-deep water; a poem at the bottom reads "Oh!
please don't think I'm bad or bold/cause where it's deep,it's
awful cold". Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G.G. Drayton.
Comments: Germany,circa 1920,the design was based on the
illustrations of Grace Drayton. Value Points: rare and sought-
after figure of shivering little curly-haired girl,by the American
artist.
