Description
20" (51 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered wooden base is a
bisque-head gentleman with large brown glass paperweight inset
eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,brush-stroked brows,slightly-
parted lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig,carton torso and
legs,wire upper arms,bisque forearms and hands,wearing lavish silk
costume with painted floral decorations on vest,silk striped
jacket,tall black top hat with flowers,and holding a wine bottle
in one hand and wooden goblet in the other. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG (doll). Comments:
Roullet et Decamps,circa 1890. Value Points: rare and all-original
model in wonderful costume,which when wound,moves head side to
side and up and down,his head inclined to the goblet when lifted
to drink,and his right arm lifting the bottle as though to
replenish the goblet; meanwhile music plays.
