Description
13" (33 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial
features,narrow brown side-glancing eyes,right eye nearly closed
as though winking,thick brown curly lashes all around the
eyes,fringed brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with coral-
shaded lower lip,carrot-red mohair wig,jointing at shoulders and
hips,barefoot with distinct big toe. Condition: generally
excellent,few moth holes in apron. Comments: Lenci,the winking
lady,model 264,appeared in early Lenci catalogs in several
variations; this model with basket of felt vegetables and flowers
appeared in the 1928 catalog. Value Points: rare early model with
wonderfully-painted face,vibrant hair,wearing her original
Brittany wool felt dress and apron,felt scarf,undergarment,and
carries a basket of felt garden produce.
