Description
19" (50 cm.) Bisque socket head, small blue glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils of little upturned nose, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, blonde human hair braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R Simon & Halbig 117 50. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1912,the model marketed as "Mein Susser Liebling" (my sweet darling),offered as a transitional model between the firm's art character dolls and their idealized child dolls; although a luxury doll,it was successful and was offered for nearly a decade in several variations. Value Points: an especially beautiful example in appealing size, with fine matte bisque, original body and body finish, antique costume including little wooden-handled parasol.
