16" (41 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque
shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder blades,amber brown
glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted dark
lashes,mauve blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked brows,accented
nostrils,shaded nostrils,open mouth with small hole for bottle
nipple,with tin-framed rubber ball in head that attaches to metal
screw at the back of head (designed to operate as nursing
mechanism),slender kid body with scalloped-edge
collarette,Chevrot-hinged upper legs,wooden lower legs,kid-curved
upper arms,bisque forearms with separately-sculpted fingers,with
original shift. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 5 T
(head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,Chevrot era,circa
1885,the model marketed as Bebe Teteur. Value Points: pristine
original condition,unusually pretty example of this rare model
with very beautiful bisque and painting,original mechanism
intact,perfect bisque hands.
