Description
18" (46 cm.) A metal base designed to appear as a stone wall
supports a tin egg head which rests in a tin collar and has hinged
flat-cut arms and stubby legs with silhouette fingers and tiny
black flat shoes; the egg has a painted face with wide beaming
smile,little curls on bald pate,large blue eyes,and the collar has
painted detail with polka dot bow tie. The base has an original
metal plate "Take Humpty Dumpty's Advice and Buy That Diamond
Now". When plugged and switched on,Humpty rotates side to side and
waves his arms and legs in an attention-getting manner. This,in
other fairy-tale themed automata were created by a Los Angeles
jewelry story in the 1920s for use in their store windows as
promotional displays. Excellent condition.
