22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head,blue glass sleep eyes which operate from a turn-screw at the back of her head,dark eyeliner,lushly-painted lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette human hair wig,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 10 (head) France (original paper label on body) Bebe Jumeau Diplome d'Honneur (body stamp). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1888; the firm's first deposed system of sleeping eyes appeared in 1886. Value Points: lovely bisque,rare original sleeping eye mechanism,original body and body finish,the bebe owns three beautiful family-made dresses,along with various undergarments,ruffled bonnet,socks and original shoes signed "Paris Depose 10" with bee symbol.
