22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head,small grey glass sleep eyes,dark
eyeliner,painted curly lashes,brush-stroked feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,slightly-parted smiling
lips,four porcelain teeth,brunette mohair curly wig,composition
five-piece toddler body,antique costume and jacket. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Porzellanfabrik Burggrub Princess
Elizabeth 6 1/2 Made in Germany. Comments: the portrait doll of
the young British princess was commissioned from the German
firm,one of the last bisque models made by the firm,one of the few
bisque portrait dolls to actually bear the name of the person
depicted,the doll was a luxury model made for a very short time
only. Value Points: very choice bisque and painting on the smiling
child.
