Carved one-piece wooden head and torso of woman with carved facial features,her head inclined to the side,dark enamel inset eyes,strong nose,closed mouth with full lips,sculpted pierced ears,and carved brown flowing hair with coiled chignon at the back,wooden arms with separately-sculpted fingers and dowel- jointing at the shoulders and elbows,pin-jointed wooden legs with painted shoes,original wooden stand. Condition: generally excellent,two fingers broken. Comments: Southern Germany,late 18th century. Value Points: highly-expressive features on the all- wooden lady with articulated arms,wearing fine antique costume.
