15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head with uniquely-sculpted features
depicting kindly aged gentleman,brown glass inset eyes,incised
wrinkles and laughter lines enhanced with red accents,strong
aquiline nose,closed mouth in smiling expression,sculpted brows
with combmarked detail,grey mohair wig and beard,muslin body with
bisque lower limbs,wearing classic Uncle Sam costume. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: S 1 Germany. Comments: Cuno and Otto
Dressel,circa 1890,from their historical series of American
heroes. Value Points: hard-to-find model with fine detail of
sculpting and painting.
