18" (46 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial
features,very plump cheeks and chin,narrow blue side-glancing
eyes,fringed brown upper lashes,blue eye shadow,fringed
brows,accented nostrils,blonde mohair wig with braids and forelock
curl,jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: very
good/excellent,dustiness on right arm. Marks: Lenci (feet).
Comments: Lenci,from the 1500 series,probably the first model of
the series; this and the preceding doll were shown together in a
photograph in the 1929 Lenci catalog. Value Points: captivating
expression with beautiful painting,the pouting face child wearing
her original blue wool felt dress and matching shoes,organdy apron
with blue embroidery,cotton petticoat and pantalets,and carries
wooden knitting needles.
