Description
20" (51 cm.) Felt head with pressed and painted facial features of
very plump young girl,with upper glancing brown eyes,brown upper
lashes,short comma-shaped brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth
with accent dots on lower lip,black felt cap enclosing the back of
head and extended black yarn braid,hollow body designed for use as
pillow,with button back,and with costume-designed cover of rich
felt fabrics,with one arm designed to clasp the felt multi-colored
rooster,and two extended feet with wooden shoes. Condition:
generally excellent,light dust. Comments: Lenci,circa 1928,a
variation of the preceding lot illustrating the Lenci movement
into dolls as decorative objects. Value Points: rare model with
wonderful and well-preserved details.
