Description
23" (58 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial
features,heart-shaped face,heavy eyelids on sculpted downcast and
glazed dark blue eyes,black and brown upper eyeliner,tinted
brows,two black beauty marks,aquiline nose,closed mouth,very lean
and elongated torso and limbs,jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips
and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Lenci,early
1920s,the model,representing the classic theatrical figure of
Pierrot,appeared in the earliest Lenci catalogs,in several color
variations of costume,and this unique example which featured a
vine climbing from the black skullcap,and with white wool felt
costume with black ruffled collar,buttons,shoes,and with wooden
mandolin.
