36" (91 cm.) Paper mache mask face with deeply impressed angular
features and wrinkles,sienna complexion and painted features,right
side-glancing eyes,thickly modeled black brows,closed mouth
firmly-set lips,black mohair braids with interwoven yellow felt
ribbons,one-piece cloth torso and legs,stitch-jointed arms with
defined stitched hands and fingers. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: Mary McAboy,from her patented series of
Native American dolls,circa 1930. Value Points: fine original
finish on the well-sculpted features,unusual body style,original
costume includes kidskin shirt and pants with beaded and fringe
trim,white beaded moccasins,elaborate beaded and feathered
headdress,and fine beaded vest with red wool lining (may be
added); the separate hands are unusual on this model.
