Description
16" (41 cm.) Solid-domed paper mache swivel head on shoulder plate
with traditional gofum finish,painted shaded hair in delicate
tendrils,prominently-sculpted ears,enamel inset eyes in half-moon
shape,feathered brows,closed mouth with accented lips,muslin body
with paper-wrapped torso,paper mache lower arms and legs.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (maker's stamp on torso).
Comments: Japanese,early 20th century play doll known as
Ichimatsu. Value Points: pristine condition,with expressive
features,beautiful complexion and very fine multi-layered original
costume.
