Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with very angular
features,pronounced chin,brown glass inset eyes,painted long curly
lashes,incised eyeliner,brush-stroked brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with open hole in whistling shape between
the accented lips,brunette mohair wig,French composition and
wooden fully-jointed body,nicely costumed. Condition: generally
excellent,rubber ball a bit dried preventing a strong whistle.
Comments: Jules Steiner and successors,circa 1895,the back pate is
constructed with insertion of rubber ball so when head is squeezed
at the back,the doll "whistles". Value Points: rare model with
uniquely sculpted features.
