Description
16" (41 cm.) Brown felt swivel head with pressed and painted
facial features in highly characterized style,elongated
throat,brown side-glancing eyes,white eyedots,dot brows,pronounced
lips of closed mouth with accented lower lip,stitched-on black
wiry hair,long slender torso and limbs,jointing at shoulders and
hips,separately-stitched big toe. Condition: generally excellent.
Comments: Lenci,early 1920s. Value Points: very rare model with
wonderful painting of features,well-constructed and unique
slender-limbed body with pronounced stomach,wearing superbly-
preserved original costume comprising reed skirt decorated with
colorful felt ribbons,wooden colorfully-painted jewelry in the
shape of animals and snakes including necklaces,earrings,and
bangle ankle bracelet.
