13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head with slender facial shape and elongated throat,on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,blue glass enamel inset eyes,painted lashes,brushstroked brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,aquiline nose,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,kid upper torso,bisque forearms,hollow cone- shaped cylinder for use as bon-bon box forming the underskirt,balanced on support stand and with two lower legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French,circa 1870,the doll was created as a luxury candy box for a prestigious Parisian candy shop. Value Points: rare facial portrait model has original elaborate wig,and original costume which disguises the candy container hidden in the torso.
