18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome,very
plump cheeks and chin,blue glass inset eyes with rich spiral
threading,dark eyeliner,painted curly lashes,brush-stroked
feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth
with defined space between the outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde
mohair wig,Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body
with straight wrists,wearing muslin chemise
dress,undergarments,shoes,ruffled lace cap. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 12. Comments: Sonneberg,maker unknown,the doll
closely resembles the early Bru model known as "circle dot",circa
1885. Value Points: very expressive features of the wistful-faced
child,enhanced by finest bisque and painting,beautiful
eyes,original body and body finish.
