Description
9" (23 cm.) Amber-tinted bisque shoulder plate,small dark glass
inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes and brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with accented lips,lightly-feathered
brows,pierced ears,black queue wig,attached to hollow cone-shaped
body,wire upper arms,amber bisque hands. Condition: generally
excellent,candy box cover (hidden at base of doll) is missing.
Comments: French,nearly identical signed poupees by Gaultier are
known,circa 1865. Value Points: rare luxury candy box with
outstanding complexion and precious painting of features,with
original (frail) silk costume.
