Description
17" (43 cm.) Felt swivel head with very plump facial shape,pressed
and painted facial features,large brown side-glancing eyes,painted
lashes,short stroke brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with two
accent dots on lower lip,black mohair wig in centerpart with two
coiled side braids,very plump torso,jointing at shoulders and
hips,short legs. Condition: generally excellent,light rub on
cheek. Marks: Lenci (early paper label). Comments: Lenci,the model
was shown in a brilliant color illustration in the 1926 Lenci
catalog as model 178/M and named "Marietta". Value Points: rare
early model with wonderful face,wearing original felt costume of
purple,lavender,blue and black,with white homespun blouse,wooden
sabots with purple leather fronts,and carrying a brilliant felt
rooster with variegated color of felt feathers.
