9" (23 cm.) h. Emperor. 13"h. screen. The traditional figures of the
Japanese ceremonial Girl's Day festival are featured,each with paper
mache head having gofum finish and painted details,and each with
original multi-layered costume,posed upon original stand,with
folding screen at the back. Included are Emperor and Empress,three
ladies of the court,five musicians,the young and old minister,and
three samurai. Excellent condition. Japan,late 19th/early 20th
century.
