29" (74 cm.) Felt swivel head with angular slender shaped
face,pressed and painted facial features,brown side-glancing
eyes,black curled lashes and fringed brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth in wide beaming smile with painted row of
teeth,coral-shaded lower lip with two accent dots,black mohair wig
in chignon,very elongated slender torso and limbs,jointing at
shoulders elbows,hips and knees,feet posed for high heels.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Lenci 550 (original paper
label). Comments: Lenci,the model,named "Mariquita",model
550,appeared in the 1926 Lenci catalog. Value Points: wonderfully-
preserved early model with layered wool felt costume in
black,purple,lavender and burgundy,with pink-lined black helmet
cap,pink yoke,sleevelets and heeled boots each with rich gold
embroidery,undergarments,carrying a wooden rosary and cross,and a
wooden tray with felt vegetables.
