Description
15" (38 cm.) Each has firmly-shaped cloth head with seam at center
back,pressed and painted facial features,short brown painted
hair,painted brown eyes with dark upper eyeliner,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with very full lips,muslin body with five-
piece body,separate thumb. Condition: very good,finish appears
original,costumes dusty. Marks: 13.XII.1924 25828 (boy,foot).
Comments: Germany,circa 1924,maker uncertain; a series of dolls
copying the popular Kathe Kruse doll were created by other makers
such as Bing and Gunther Heine at this time,until they were
restrained by an important industry lawsuit concerning copy
infringement. Value Points: rare pair of dolls,with original
folklore style costumes having elaborate detail of embroidery and
ribbons.
