Description
26" (66 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with elongated shape and
full cheeks,blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark
eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked and
multi-feathered brows,accented eye corners and nostrils,closed
mouth with defined space between the shaded accented
lips,separately-applied pierced ears,brunette mohair wig over cork
pate,French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body
with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:
E.J.A. 10 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments:
Emile Jumeau,circa 1882,the signature model of Emile Jumeau was
made in two sizes only for a very short period. Value Points: very
rare early bebe with exemplary bisque,lovely pale complexion with
fine painting,original body and body finish,fine antique costume
including leather shoes incised "Bebe Jumeau Depose".
