Description
21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated slender
face,painted blue eyes in deeply-set sockets,black upper
eyeliner,one stroke tapered brows,distinctly-shaped nose,closed
mouth with shaded and glazed lips,brunette mohair wig,composition
and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: 150 S&H 2 1/4. Comments: Simon and Halbig,their rare 150
art character doll series which comprised four models only,circa
1910,this example is designed as an older lad. Value Points: the
very rare artistic model has finest bisque with fine lustrous
patina,richly-glazed lips enhancing the pensive
expression,original body and body finish; few examples are known
to exist,this doll wearing antique mariner costume that is likely
original.
