18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with round facial shape,dark blue
glass sleep eyes which operate from wire lever at the back of the
head,painted lashes with dot highlights,rose-blushed eye
shadow,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented eye
corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced
ears,light brown mohair wig,cork pate,Steiner composition fully-
jointed body,Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sie C 2 (head)
(eyes also signed Steiner). Comments: Jules Steiner,circa 1882.
Value Points: original head,body,body finish,signed eyes,most
endearing gentle expression with finest quality of bisque and
painting,lovely antique costume including leather shoes with silk
rosettes.
