26" (66 cm.) Bisque socket head,dark blue glass paperweight inset
eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,brush-stroked and
feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth,defined space
between the shaded and outlined lips,pierced ears,auburn mohair
wig over cork pate,original distinctive wooden neck dowel
attachment,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body,fine
antique costume and bonnet. Condition: generally excellent,very
faint hairline from back crown rim to side seam. Marks: Paris Bebe
Tete Depose 11 (head) (Eiffel Towel symbol and Paris Bebe mark on
torso). Comments: Danel & Cie,circa 1889,the model was made for
one or two years only until halted by the Jumeau lawsuit against
the firm for copying. Value Points: rare model with original
signed head and body,wonderful costume,exceptionally fine detail
of sculpting lending a well-defined character expression.
