19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head,blue glass paperweight inset eyes
in unusual smaller cut,dark eyeliner,mauve blushed eye
shadow,painted long curly lashes,brush-stroked and feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined
lips having upturned lip corners,pierced ears,brunette human hair
wig in bobbed boyish cut,cork pate,French composition and wooden
fully-jointed body,straight wrists. Condition: excellent except 2"
faint hairline from center crown rim. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau
Bte SGDG 9 (head and artist check marks). Comments: Emile
Jumeau,circa 1885,a rare transitional model,although having the
tete markings,the doll more closely resembles the incised depose
model which immediately preceded it. Value Points: fine painting
of complexion,eye shading,and lips enhance the expressive
features,original body and body finish,wearing antique sailor
costume and leather sailor cap,leather shoes signed Bebe Jumeau
