19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head,large blue glass paperweight inset eyes,painted lashes,thick brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented nostrils of strong nose,closed mouth with firmly- set lips,brunette mohair wig,late French composition fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent,unrefined quality of bisque that is typical for this model. Comments: French,circa 1917,from the art reform movement of that time,designed to re-ignite the prominence of the French doll industry. Value Points: this,and the following doll,are rarely found models,with distinctive facial expression,wearing antique khaki green flannel uniform with red piping,matching cap,with accessories including metal canteen,green twill satchel,wooden rifle,and brown mohair backpack,with leather trim.
