plate,blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading,dark
eyeliner,painted lashes,widely arched feathered brows,mauve
blushed eye shadow,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed
mouth with outlined shaded lips,separately-modeled pierced
ears,brunette human hair wig over cork pate,kid gusset-jointed
body with jointing at elbows,hips and knees,separately-stitched
fingers and toes,wearing very fine silk faille gown with handmade
lace and paillette trim,bonnet,undergarments,shoes,carved bone
fan. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Pierre-Francois
Jumeau,circa 1870,the grand size and luxury details of the poupee
indicate its original commission for Exhibition purposes. Value
Points: extraordinary detail of sculpting around the eyes creates
a gentle,refined portraiture,finest bisque and painting,few
examples of this rare portrait model are known to exist in this
size.
