Description
16" (41 cm.) x 11" x 6"d. Of fine faience,the 18th-century-style
armoire has richly hand-painted scenes in the Watteau style against
a pale green background,that is accented by gold borders and
stencil,and garlands of flowers. The armoire has curved shape to the
doors,sides,and roof,and cast brass hinges. The shelved interior has
painted white finish with floral designs. A gold fleur-de-lis symbol
marks the underside. Excellent condition,possible old restoration on
the underside. French,early 19th century.
