Description
13" (33 cm.) h. x 13"l. x 7"d (excluding chimney). Of cast metal
with turquoise enameled cover having beaded edging on front and
both sides,original chimney,two burners with fitted plates,opening
oven doors,and a built-in water heater with faucet,brass-plated
metal pulls. The stove is labeled Godin and Guise. Excellent
condition. French,late 19th century. Located in Guise,France,Godin
& Cie was one of the largest maker's of kitchen and parlor stoves
throughout the 19th century; the miniature doll-sized stoves such
as this were made as salesman's samples with elaborate authentic
detailing of the people-sized versions.
