Description
30" (76 cm.) (to tip of hat). Bisque socket head,blue glass
paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,brush-stroked
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with accented lips,blonde
mohair wig,on original wooden and excelsior body with attached
silk costume of Polichinelle,and having characteristic hump at
front and back of torso,bisque hands. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: F.G. (scroll). Comments: French,circa 1890,the
symbolic French figure has original bisque head by Gaultier. Value
Points: rare large size in perfectly-preserved condition with
elaborate silk costume decorated with gilt braid,paillettes,and
lace,and with matching cap.
