16" (43 cm.) and 11". Each has bisque socket head,painted facial
features,composition and wooden ball-jointed body,including 16"
"Gretchen" with painted large blue eyes,thick black eyeliner,one
stroke tapered brows,closed mouth with very full pouting
lips,blonde mohair wig; and 11" "Marie" with small blue glass
painted eyes with heavily-modeled eyelids,black upper
eyeliner,delicate one-stroke lashes,closed mouth with center
accent line,blonde mohair wig. Condition: paint flake and faint
emanating hairline at back of head (Gretchen),little cheek rub
(Marie). Marks: K*R 114 43 (Gretchen) K*R 30 101 (Marie).
Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt,from their art character reform
series,circa 1910. Value Points: the dear sisters with wonderful
wistful expressions enhanced by antique costumes.
