17" (43 cm.) Paper mache socket head with highly-characterized
laughing expression,blue glass inset eyes,closed mouth with
painted teeth,impressed dimples,sculpted brown hair with defined
tendrils,attached original clown hat with plush cover,paper mache
body with attached silk costume,that separates at the waist for
access to hidden candy container center,painted blue and white
striped stockings,orange flat shoes. Condition: generally
excellent,left ankle reglued. Comments: French,circa 1890,likely
an exclusive presentation for luxury candy store. Value Points:
the wonderful character with fancy painted stockings,original silk
faille costume has added feature of hidden candy box.
