25" (64 cm.) Pale-complexioned bisque head with plump,rounded
face,flat-cut neck socket that accommodate the matching shoulder
plate,blue inset enamel eyes,thick dark eyeliner,delicately
painted lashes,lightly-feathered brows,shaded nostrils,closed
mouth with pale outlined lips,un-pierced lightly-blushed
ears,original ringlet-curled mohair wig over kidskin cap and cork
pate,French horsehair-stuffed plump poupee body in the Rohmer
manner,brass grommets for pull-strings in front torso,gusset-
jointing at elbows and hips,kid-over-wooden jointing at
knees,bisque arms from below the elbows,wearing fine white cotton
bebe dress with embroidered cutwork,elaborate matching
bonnet,undergarments,kidskin ankle boots. Condition: generally
excellent,few body patches. Marks: Rohmer Paris (in oval,green
stamp on torso). Comments: Leontine Rohmer,circa 1860. Value
Points: extraordinary facial model,with two deposed Rohmer
construction stystems,unusual larger size,only two other models
are known to exist (see Theriault's The Great Man's Doll
auction,#93).
