13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with perfectly-round face, large round brown glass googly side-glancing eyes, black eyeliner, painted upper curly lashes, one-stroke angled brows with ochre shading, little pug-shaped nose, closed mouth with impish smile, shaded lips, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition toddler body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, chubby body details with muscular details, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F made in Germany 10 JDK 221 Ges Gesch. Comments: Kestner, circa 1910, the model was inspired by Rose O'Neill's Kewpie which was also made by Kestner. Value Points: wonderful expression, original body and body finish, the googly is holding a vintage celluloid rattle in the shape of a doll holding a doll.
