Description
6" (15 cm.) x 4". The wooden flat case has an oil-painting
on the cover depicting a gentleman beseeching the hand of
a fair maiden,the pair seated in a flower garden. The box
opens to mirrored back with braid edging and a red velvet
fitted base filled with original silver sewing tools
including scissors with design of troubadour and
mandolin,knife,awl,bodkin,needlecase and thimble with
shield medallion. Excellent condition. Beidermeier
era,probably Viennese,circa 1840.
