Description
12" (30 cm.) x 9" x 5". Constructed with fine mitered
corners and finish in ebony black with rich inlays of
mother-of-pearl accented by gold leaf painting,the box
opens to an elaborately-ruched green silk panel on the
inside lid,and a green silk-lined compartmented tray which
contains matching mother-of-pearl sewing tools comprising
scissors with urn of flowers handle,two
stilettos,pincers,bodkin,needle case in the shape of a bow
and arrow,six floral-designed thread spools,and matching
tape measure with silk cloth tap,and two wax containers.
There are two green silk needle folios,two green silk
pincushions,and two silver thimbles (one a child尽). The
inside lid line secretly folds forward for access to a
hidden section for love letters,and the bottom tray lifts
out to reveal two secret compartments,one covered by yet
another green silk lid with five additional sewing tools.
